Changing Your Major

Changing Your Major

If you have chosen a major in the College of Humanities, if you have one in mind, or if you need someone to talk with about choosing a major, come in and talk to an advisor today. We are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m Monday—Friday. (except Tuesdays from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.) and will be happy to meet with you.

Your Advisor can help you with questions and concerns as you pursue your degree. They will be able to provide you with valuable information on courses, course curriculum, prerequisites, and the work load of classes for which you will register.

If you are reading this website in the early morning or late evening hours and are not able to talk to an advisor at the moment, do not worry. Read the information we have compiled for you. Begin with Frequently Asked Questions, then visit related pages on the Humanities Advisement Center website, you can access the Student Academic & Advisement Services website. Pay particular attention to the Charting Your Academic Course page. You will want to access MyMAP, the BYU student planning system. MyMAP combines the most useful features of the progress report with course descriptions from the catalog, scheduling information from the the next semester and/or term class schedules, sequencing recommendations from the Major Academic Plans (MAPs), and Registration - all of the tools necessary to create a comprehensive academic plan leading to graduation. Please email us at humanities-advisement@byu.edu. We are happy to help and will get back to you as soon possible.
