Teacher Education Scholarship

Requirements

  1. Applicants must have a declared teaching major in the College of Humanities.
  2. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  3. File a 2009-2010 FAFSA (US Citizens only) (online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or paper copy at the Financial Aid Office).
  4. Applicants for FALL 2009 semester must complete the entire application procedure by April 15, 2009.
    Applicants for WINTER 2010 semester must complete the entire application procedure by October 15, 2009.

Procedure

  1. Download the Teacher Education Scholarship application for FALL 2009 or
    Download the Teacher Education Scholarship application for WINTER 2010
  2. Fill out all Personal Information (page 3).
  3. Fill out Financial Need Attributes (page 4). If you believe your financial need to be greater than that of others students, please complete the statement explaining your unique situation or any extenuating circumstances. Also explain how you meet your education expenses, including parental support, savings, employment, etc. State your current financial need (page 5).
  4. Attach a short biographical sketch that mentions leadership experiences, extracurricular activities, service opportunities, and any academic honors you have received. Include a brief statement of your educational objectives and life goals. Limit your response to 250 words or less (page 6).
  5. Provide two letters of recommendation, one from a faculty member who knows you well and can provide an academic reference. Letters must be in a sealed envelope and attached to this application.
  6. Turn in your completed application form by
    April 15, 2009 for FALL 2009 semester
    or by October 15, 2009 for WINTER 2010 semester.
    You must have the Check List completed and stapled on top of your entire application, or it will not be accepted at the Advisement Center (page 2).

Print the completed application form and turn it into the Humanities Advisement Center.
