| My child's maternal grandfather was born and raised in Mexico. Spanish is spoken in this household and my daughter sees her maternal grandparents almost daily. My child's father speaks german almost fluently. He has a degree in German and speaks german to my daughter after work each day. Both parents have language degrees and masters in applied linguistics. We try to speak naturally and gramatically to our daughter we using our non-native languages. We hope she acquires vocabulary and certain basic gramatical structure in both spanish and german. |
