Biography: The study and speaking of Russian has been my passion for many years. Having become acquainted with the warm hospitality of a Russian immigrant in France, I decided to study Russian in college. Ten years and a BA, MA, and PhD later I spent some time working for the Defense Department before starting my teaching career at BYU. Russian for me has been a life long adventure holding innumerable surprises, challenges and delights. I have seen much of the world, made friends and have even taken part in mass meetings with Russians as the Soviet Union began to morph into today's Russia. Most satisfying has been my relationship over the years with students who have shared with me their delight in studying Russian.
