Biography:

Kathryn Isaak received her M.A. in Humanities and promptly went to work as a chef and innkeeper at a luxury bed and breakfast. After a year of the glamorous life, she decided that she much preferred teaching to baking at 3 a.m., scrubbing ten bathrooms every day, and putting mints on pillows. She has taught at Salt Lake Community College, UVSC and BYU in the areas of Humanities, Art History and Honors Writing. She believes that her own phobias about writing give her the insider's edge in helping students deal with their writing demons. Kathryn believes that the classroom should be a dynamic community, where teachers and students seek out new experiences and ideas, and push themselves beyond their self-imposed limits. If you attend her class, be prepared to read and write every day, to be a teacher as well as a learner, and to occasionally devour a sour-cream-chocolate-chip coffee cake (old B&B habits die hard).
