Biography:

Rachel Yu Liu is a visiting assistant professor in the Chinese Flagship Center. She earned her Ph.D. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Sun Yat-sen University (中山大学) in China in June 2010. Her dissertation topic was The L2 Acquisition and Teaching System of Chinese Continuous Aspect Marker “zhe. She received her B.A. in Chinese language and literature at Sun Yat-sen University in 2005. She started working at BYU from September 2010. She taught Chinese to American students and international students at all levels in some other programs during 2005-2010. These programs include Princeton in Beijing (PiB) program, IUPUI summer study abroad program, China-International MBA Program at University of Hawaii at Manoa, and Chinese program to international students at Sun Yat-sen University. She also taught Chinese writing course to Chinese undergraduate students at Jinan University (暨南大学) in China.
