CONDUCTING MEETINGS

Andres: Uncle Juan, come to Primary now. I'm speaking today.
Juan: Oh, okay. Uh, excuse me. Good-bye.
Elder Hansen:: Good-bye. It was nice to meet you!
Amanda: Hi, Andres.
Andres: Hi.
Amanda: Jenny said you're giving a talk today.
Andres: Yeah, it's from The Book of Mormon.
Amanda: Wow! Are you scared?
Andres: Who, me? Of course not!
Amanda: How did you prepare your talk? Did your mom help you?
Andres: A little bit. We read The Book of Mormon a lot at home. It's easy to prepare a talk.
Juan: Talk? What is a talk?
Amanda: Well it's not for me. Could you help me when it's my turn?
Andres: Sure.
Vivian: Where's Mom?
Sister Ishikawa: Are you ready?...Good.
Sister Ishikawa: Good morning children. Welcome to Primary. I see some visitors today. We're so happy to have you here in Primary. Our opening song is "I Thank Thee Dear Father." Then, Shelly Brown will give the opening prayer.
Congregation:
I thank thee, dear Father in heaven above,
For they goodness and mercy, they kindness and love.
I thank thee for home, friends and parents so dear,
And for every blessing that I enjoy here.
Shelly: Dear Heavenly Father, we thank thee for this nice day. We thank thee for Primary and for our teachers. Please help us to be good. Please bless the missionaries. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Sister Ishiskawa: Thank you, Shelly. Welcome to Primary again, Amanda. We're glad to have you here. Saturday will be a special day for Amanda and her mother. They will be baptized at seven p.m. I hope you can all come with your families. Also, on Saturday mroning we'll have our Primary Activity Day. Please meet here in the Primary room at nine a.m. I know we have another visitor today. She is my niece. Yumi, would you stand and introduce yourself?... That's okay.
Sister Ishikawa: Thank you, Yumi. Welcome to Primary. Do we have any other visitors?... Now Luo Ti will give our scripture. After the scripture, Andres Martinez will give a talk.
Luo Ti: My scripture is John, chapter 15, verse 12. Jesus said, "This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you."
Andres: I love The Book of Mormon. I want to tell you a Book of Mormon story.
This is Samuel, a prophet. He was a Lamanite, so we call him Samuel the Lamanite. He lived in America a long time ago. At that time, many people were wicked. He went to a city called Zarahemla. He stood on the city wall. He said to the people, "Repent and believe in Jesus Christ." He said, "Jesus will come soon." Many people were angry. They threw rocks shot arrows at him. They didn't accept Christ. Heavenly Father protected Samuel. Some people believed Samuel. They repented and were baptized. In five years Jesus came like Samuel said. Jesus died for our sins. The people who repent can be forgiven.
We have prophets like Samuel the Lamanite today. They tell us about Christ. They tell us to repent. Because of Jesus Christ we can be forgiven.
I know the Gospel's true. I know The Book of Mormon's true. It teaches us the truth. Jesus died for us. We can repent. Jesus will come again. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Juan: A talk. I see. These children know a lot about God.
Sister Ishikawa: Thank you, Luo Ti and Andres. And thank you all for your reverence. Our closing song is, "Teach Me to Walk in the Light." After the song we will go to our classes.
Congregation:
Teach me to walk in the light of his love;
Teach me to pray to my Father:
Teach me to know of the things that are right;
Teach me, teach me, to walk in the light.

Amanda: Wow, that was a great talk! you really weren't scared!
Andres: Thanks.
Juan: Andres, that was good.
Andres: Thanks, Uncle Juan.
Juan: You're welcome.
Jenny: Come on, we have to go to class now.
Andres: See you later.
Silvia: Enjoy your class.
