Christopher (Chip) Oscarson received a BA in History (1997) and MA in Comparative Literature (2000) from Brigham Young University and then went on to the University of Califormia, Berkeley to do a PhD (2006) in Scandinavian Languages and Literatures with a Designated Emphasis in Film. He joined the faculty at BYU in 2005 and has served since that time as the director for the BYU Scandinavian Program. His research interests are in nineteenth- and twentieth-century Scandinavian literature, silent film, and the relationship between art and the environment.
