James Toronto is Associate Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies, teaching courses in religion, humanities, language, and research methodology. Received M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at Harvard University in Islamic Studies. Has lived in the Middle East for ten years and recently served as director of BYU's Center for Cultural and Educational Affairs in Amman, Jordan.
