James Lyon came to BYU in 1994 following a career at Harvard, the University of Florida, and UC-San Diego, where he served as department chair, Associate Dean of the Graduate School, and Provost of Fifth College. The recipient of numerous grants and fellowships, jamie has published widely; his most recent book is Paul Celan and Martin Heidigger:An Unresovled Conversation, 1951-1970. "In leaving BYU," he says, "I will miss my congenial colleagues and my excellent student, all of whom have brought me unusual pleasure."
