Marc Yamada received a BA in Japanese and International Relations (1997) and an MA in Comparative Literature (2000) from Brigham Young University and a PhD in Japanese Literature (2006) from UC Berkeley.

Marc has published articles on modern Japanese literature and film and is currently working on articles on Japanese writers Takahashi Genichirô, Kobayashi Kyôji, and Shimada Masahiko as well as a book on agency in postmodern Japanese fiction. He has been awarded a Fulbright fellowship, a scholarship from The Japanese Ministry of Education, and a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship from the US Department of Education.

In the last few years, Marc has lived with his wife, Mikilani, and son, Kyle, in Tokyo, Berkeley, and most recently, Provo. They are excited to see where they end up next...
