Robert Russell received his BA from the University of Utah, 1968 and his Ph.D from Harvard University, 1977. He is currently serving as Chair of the Department of Asian & Near Eastern Languages. His research interests include Japanese linguistics; second language acquisition, attrition, and pedagogy; Japanese for special purposes (business, science and technology, etc.); computer-assisted language learning (CALL) materials design and development.
