William Shakespeare specializes in (you guessed right) Shakespeare and British Renaissance literature. In addition he teaches courses that survey English literature from its beginnings to 1800, and a literature survey course that studies the classics of fiction, poetry, and drama. He also teaches basic reading and writing skills and vocabulary building. He spent ten years (1982-1991) as director of the university reading-writing center where in addition to his administrative duties he developed materials to help developing writers and college readers improve their reading comprehension, retention, and analysis skills and increase their reading rate. His current scholarly pursuits are focused in writing center tutor selection, brain profile and personality type studies as they apply to teaching, and, of course, Shakespeare and the English Renaissance.
