Time
To participate students must sign up with their name, school, and level on the sign-up sheets posted outside of the door of one of the rooms where dramatic reading is being held. Do not wait until the last moment to sign up.

Information

The readings do not need to be memorized but should be read eloquently and dramatically.

Judging Criteria

Exceptionnel: The winner of the contest after a final judging. Superb pronunciation and liasons, exceptionally effective dramatic expression and gestures.
Mention Spéciale: Nearly flawless; spontaneous; exceptional performance. The clearly superior in pronunciation, feeling, expression and gestures.
Excellent: Little hesitation; good but not superior pronunciation and expression; correct liasons, but performance lacks the spark of deeply involved understanding and dramatic physical presentation.
Très Bien: Some hesitation; fair pronunciation; most liasons correct; some drama.
Bien: Halting; quite a few pronunciation problems; some inappropriate liasons; only fair dramatic expression.
Assez Bien: Poor pronunciation; difficult to understand; inappropriate liasons; dramatic expression lacking or poor.

Judging Criteria for Les Interviews

Exceptionnel:

Good, intelligible, but not superior pronunciation and content; some structural and vocabulary variety, but mostly standard words and simple sentences.

                                   
Mention Spéciale: Spontaneous and superior responses to questions with little hesitation, excellent pronunciation, few errors, sentence structure variety, connecting phrases and words as well as interesting content & vocabulary.  
Excellent: Little hesitation; good but not superior pronunciation and expression; correct liasons, but performance lacks the spark of deeply involved understanding and dramatic physical presentation.
Très Bien: Some hesitation; fair pronunciation; most liasons correct; some drama.
Bien: Frequent errors, but still communicates the main ideas.
Assez Bien: Poor pronunciation; difficult to understand; inappropriate liasons; dramatic expression lacking or poor.
Participant Halting; excessive errors, difficult to understand.
