Covenant Communications, Inc.

Description

We select an in-house, unpaid intern once per semester (Fall, Winter, Summer).

Interns will be asked to evaluate manuscript submissions, copyedit, and proofread, with potential opportunity to typeset and substantive edit depending on skill.

We consider our best interns as prime candidates for hire when full-time or part-time positions open up.

Application deadlines are as follows:

Fall: August 1

Winter: December 1

Summer: April 1

Start and finish dates for each of the internships are flexible, but each internship will span approximately as follows:

Fall: September to December

Winter: January to April

Summer: May to August

Qualifications

Writing and editing background, with coursework that focuses on such. Interns do not need to be finished with their degree. We strongly base our decision on editing skill, perceived talent, and on interpersonal skills.

Aclipse

Description

Start date: April 27, 2009

Hours are flexible. Choose one of the options below:

Part-time, 16 weeks, 20hrs./wk.

Full-time, 8 weeks, 40 hrs./wk.

Student will have access to completed documentation for his or her portfolio and may receive letters of recommendation. Student may also enroll in English 399R or (if a graduate student) English 599R for up to 3 hours of elective credit.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Ability to write clearly and concisely

A knowledge of Microsoft Word

A basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign (or willingness to learn)

Ability to learn a process, then write accurate instructions to teach the process to others

An interest in new technology

More Good Foundation

Description

We have many websites that need to be refined and edited, and additional content is needed for our new sites. Some writing requires some Internet research on given topics. Other writing involves personal experiences. We would provide training, supervision, and feedback to help you refine your skills.Your hours would be flexible. We accept applicants on an ongoing basis.
