It’s once again time to mark your calendars for August’s graduation convocation. Our convocation is scheduled for Friday, August 14th at 2:00 PM in the Marriott Center. The convocation program will feature remarks by our Dean and an address by Professor Cecilia Peek from the Department of Comparative Arts & Letters. Our student speaker is Emily Snow majoring in Art History and Curatorial Studies, and we will be favored with a vocal solo by Fernando Vasquez, graduating with an MA in Hispanic Linguistics. With all of this to look forward to, we sincerely hope you will set aside the time to be in attendance and support our graduating students. You have made a significant contribution to the lives of these students, and they would love the opportunity to thank you in person on their big day.
The Gathering Reception, preceding the processional march, will be in the Reception Room on the playing floor level of the Marriott Center starting at 1:15 PM. There will be refreshments provided as well as an opportunity to enjoy one another’s company before the ceremony begins. The Processional line will form at 1:45 PM.
Please respond to this e-mail no later than August 3rd to let me know if you will be in attendance so there will be enough refreshments at the reception as well as enough seating on the stage at the ceremony.
