As part of the late summer honors program, philosophy professor and professionally-trained artist Travis Anderson leads a group of students into the depths of their own minds and creativity in the course Illuminating Your Life: Illustrated Journaling. In this class, students learn about art techniques and try their hand at a new form of journaling.
Professor Anderson encourages students to create vivid representations of the beauty around them. This is a way for students to learn more about themselves, as well as for future readers to learn about what the students consider important. “I think illustrating journals enriches the journaling experience for both the author and the reader,” says Professor Anderson. “I taught the class to help the few students I could discover that richness for themselves.”
Join the class en plein air and discover this richness for yourself.
