LDS Philanthropies, Humanities College
I am in the middle of seven children. I have three sisters and three brothers. I grew up in Alpine, Utah. I served a mission in the Canada, Vancouver Mission in British Columbia. When I arrived, I struggled with the language for a bit, but soon learned to speak Canadian fluently. After my mission, I attended BYU and majored in Non-profit management in the Department of Recreation Management and Youth Leadership and graduated in 2006.
After graduation, I was hired by the Boy Scouts of America and worked with them for the next 10 years. In that time, we lived in Colorado, Nebraska, Alaska, and Utah. Just a note, when we moved from Alaska to Utah, we did it in a U-Haul…which was an adventure. My wife and daughter flew down and my dad and I drove the U-Haul pulling a car trailer over 3,200 miles in just 5 days! That is the distance of driving from Seattle to Miami! Then in September of 2016, I started working for LDS Philanthropies in Provo, Utah. In my current role I work with individuals, families, foundations, and businesses that are interested in making major philanthropic gifts to the various priorities of the LDS Church. I love my job.
I met my wonderful wife Brianna while I was a student at BYU and we were married in 2005. We have two amazing daughters Jessica and Adalynn. We adopted Jessica in 2010 as an infant…she was born on the fourth of July. Then about three months ago we adopted our second daughter Adalynn, who is almost three months old now. We are so happy to be a family of four!
