Teaching Experience

I sincerely believe that every student’s experience at this university and in my classroom should be “spiritually strengthening, intellectually enlarging, character building, and should lead to lifelong learning and service.” I am committed to creating and maintaining an environment that will foster excitement for learning, will inspire open conversations about (even difficult) questions, and will promote faith, charity, and compassion.

My main areas of interest are the history and historiography of the ancient Greco-Roman worlds. I have done a fair bit of work on Cleopatra VII.
I am interested in the intersection/clash of cultures in the Hellenistic age and beyond.
The origins of the Classical tradition and the ongoing influence of that tradition has become increasingly central to my thinking and research.
