It is important to me to help students feel included. Work hard to proactively mark assignments and make sure students receive feedback quickly in order to improve their work throughout a course. It is important to me to actively continue my own research in literature not only for my own learning experience but because it allows me to empathize with students as they are working on large writing and research projects which they may not have had to do before. Current research in Children’s literature, L.M. Montgomery, Madeleine L’Engle, ecopsychology and ecotherapy, fantasy, highly imaginative literature. Future research interests include Louisa May Alcott, other women writers for children. Interested in further research on the fantasy novels of Susan Cooper, Terry Pratchett, Robin McKinley, Geraldine McCaughrean. Picture books. Have taken opportunities to chair sessions at conferences, or volunteered. Have share ideas with other scholars which resulted in accepted sessions at MLA. Am developing MLA 2022 (non-guaranteed) session proposal in conjunction with Children’s Literature Association.Teaching Experience
