History of Art, Prehistory to 1500 CE My research and writing interests currently center on the art and culture of the global Middle Ages, with particular emphasis on astronomy, the visual arts, astrology and Geoffrey Chaucer. “The astrological zodiac active on medieval church portals: celestial movement, processions and people,” Peregrinations: Journal of Medieval Art & Architecture, volume VIII, issue 1, March 2021. “Animating Christine de Pizan in Je Christine.” Lingua Romana: a Journal of French, Italian and Romanian Culture, volume 15, issue 1, December 2020. In conjunction with BYU’s Global Women’s Studies, I was co-organizer of “Women’s Voice in the Middle Ages and Renaissance,” symposium held at Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. (March 2020). Pre-pandemic, I also regularly held interdisciplinary shows at BYU’s Royden G. Derrick Planetarium (every term, 2018-2020), titled “Star Signs: The Zodiac and the History of Art.” I firmly believe in interdisciplinary cooperation, academic discourse, and scholastic rigor.
