I love learning and teaching about becoming better communicators. My hope is that I can increase learning about the power of words and our responsibility regarding that power. As Parker Palmer in his book, To Know As We Are Known, wrote, “Education . . . means more than teaching the facts and learning the reasons so we can manipulate life toward our ends. I want my students to succeed and make a difference in their world. Currently, I have been engaged in researching and understanding ethical rhetoric. I have enjoyed working with BYU’s Traffic Committee for over 15 years. I love how even when there seems to be no good solution to a problem the focus of the committee and hopefully BYU is how to serve the students the best way within the parameters available. Even though it might not seem like it the Traffic Committee is less about penalizing and more about teaching and helping.Teaching Experience
